I am Curious (George)

A trailer is up for next February's "Curious George" movie. The animation looks wonderful. Thankfully, they haven't used CGI. Instead, the look is pretty faithful to the book.

Three things bug me about the trailer, though. The God-awful narration. It seems as if the script for the narration was "written" using a cliche-recombinator, within five minutes of its recording. Hell, they could've just read an opening paragraph from any of the books and had something better. For great movie trailer narration, click here.

The next beef? Celebrity voice casting. Who cares? Does anybody see a movie because of celebrity voice casting? I heard that DreamWorks actually asked Nick Park to re-cast the voice of Wallace in "Wallace & Gromit, the Curse of the Were-Rabbit", because Peter Sallis is not familiar to U.S. audiences. Thankfully, he refused. Who would've they used? Jimmy Fallon? Jack Black? Finally - original songs by Jack Johnson? WTF? Why even have original songs? Does every damned piece of a movie like this have to have a licensing tie-in?
