Jackie Robinson? He was on "Lost in Space." I knew that one.

I really wasn't aware of this aspect of Rosa Park's life. Thanks, Buffy.

From the New York Daily News:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer has something to say to women everywhere: You have lost your way.
"Think about Rosa Parks," Sarah Michelle Gellar intoned to Lowdown the other night at the DKNY Jeans party. "There was a woman who did so much for other women. And nowadays, women are famous for the way they wear their hair. Or designers they wear. Or who they date."

Hmmmm. Can't imagine who she's talking about.

Buffy continued: "Someone like Rosa Parks reminds you that fighting for women's causes is the most important thing we can do."

6:42 PM

What I liked best about Buffy was her sensitive treatment of Werewolf-Americans.

8:40 PM

yea i love the buffy and all... and I'm pretty open about being a feminist, but I think that Rosa Parks was working more towards human rights, and african american rights instead of "women's" rights. Don't get me wrong, Rosa Parks was an amazing person, but her work shouldn't be limited to the category of "women helping women" since she did so much more..

I see her point, but its funny she is saying that after posing in THAT outfit on the cover...

10:09 PM

ah a brief reread tells me that that cover isn't associated with that story, but I think my point still stands. Get in a leather bathingsuit and fishnets and tell me how people are only concered with what people wear.

4:52 PM

Buffy saved the world man. I mean she saved the freaking world. she was in high school fighting demons and vampires and that freaky principal dude.

So she missed out on come civics lessons. At Least we can walk the streets without worrying about vampires dude. Keep it in perspective.

10:15 PM

Oh my Lord. I'm with SYSM on the tolerance level thing. How embarrassing! And she doesn't know enough to be embarrassed! That is the truly embarrassing part.

I concur. She didn't know who Daphne was. In fact, it's a good bet that she didn't know who Scooby Doo was.

10:18 PM

In other news: Our six year old asked us if Werewolves were real, which started a discussion and research project in the word Werewolf. It's first documented use was in the year 1000. Beware the moor.
