Happy Happy, Ubie

As Ubie's birthday falls the same week as Yom Kippur (if your week starts with Sunday, that is), it's only right that try to atone for my transgression. One of them, anyway.

Ubie - I am so sorry for foisting an umlaut on you. It's vexed your usage of your blog-given name ever since. May I offer my umlaut removal services, to remove the little, two-pointed floating blot that besmirches your name? Did you ever notice that the word umlaut is, itself, sans umlaut?

It's a lovely day in the greater UberArea today, and I trust that your family will show you a lovely day. And they'll be gentle if your birthday dinner last night included a generous helping of Manhattans.

Hooray for Übie!

11:20 AM

Happy Birthday, Ubie!

Damn, I love a good Manhattan, provided the bartender knows how to make one properly.

12:18 PM

Drinks for everyone! And fresh horses for all my men!

7:51 PM

Thank you, sir.

I take no ümlaut ümbrage.

And I tried a new drink with some weird Basque liquor in it. Since I was eating tapas, and all.
