Thank goodness for the Health Inspector

I'm retracting my previously stated love for all creatures great and small. Ants. Fucking ants. We've had them all over the house the past few weeks.

I was doing laundry (sorry girls, he's married) this weekend. There were ants climbing on the dirty clothes! I'm beginning to suspect that this was the Sysmistress's evil plan to get me to actually finish the laundry (as if that's even possible - laundry if a real-life manifestation of a Mobius Strip).

Thankfully, I've passed on my germophobia to my children. They sniff their food before they eat it. They'll never eat at an Old Country Buffet. "But Sysm," I hear you say, "the food prepared in regular restaurants is just as filthy as the food in a buffet."

I disagree. The staff in a restaurant touches a lot of food, in sequence. Whereas, at the buffet, the guy before you has just left fecal bacteria all over the serving spoon.
I'll take 1/50th the fecal matter every time.

Last week, Flipper was paging through a kids' magazine, and shouted, "Dad! Next week the Pokemon 10th Anniversary tour is coming to Chicago! On May 27th!"

Chili heard this, as jazzed as Flipper, and chimed in, "(Flipper)!, That's the day our milk expires!"

I love your children.

12:24 AM

i love them more.

12:24 AM

that's possibly the best thing i've seen/heard/read/eaten all day.

5:53 AM

I want nine children just like yours.

No, really.
Fabu.

5:53 AM

But unlike most children, I don't want to eat yours.

8:38 AM

First of all: ants suck. Are they the little ones, or the big ones? You've got to find their nest outside and get rid of it.

Two: buffets ARE way worse. The food sits there for God knows how long, festering. You are completely right.

Three: I heard the Pokemon-milk story earlier from Dilf, and no matter how many times I hear it, it's still damn funny. Kids come up with the best material ever.

1:13 PM

Not to say it out loud, but to quietly write it... told ya so about the ants.
